The country singer Luan Santana will be the first of its kind to perform at the Rock in Rio in the edition in which the festival celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Among this year's presentations, national names such as Luísa Sonza and Dennis have already been confirmed, as well as international names such as Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Cindy Lauper, Travis ScottEd Sheeren, and Akon.
The information revealed by columnist Leo Dias was confirmed to CNN by sources close to the artist.
The invitation came from the festival's creator, Roberto Medina. In October last year, he had already revealed his desire to diversify the event's attractions.
At 33 years old, Luan Santana has 10.5 million listeners on Spotify, leading audio platform. The country singer, who mixes the genre with aspects of pop, has collected timeless hits throughout his career.
Recently, he has also been on the rise with partnerships with other artists. “Deja Vu”, with Ana Castela, for example, was the 4th most listened to track in the country during the summer.
There is still no confirmation, however, on the date on which the singer will perform. The Rock in Rio festival takes place on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd of September 2024.

- September 20: Katy Perry, Cyndi Lauper, Ivete Sangalo, Gloria Gaynor, IZA and Angélique Kidjo;
- September 21: headliner to be confirmed, Angélique Kidjo;
- September 22: Mariah Carey, Shawn Mendes, Ne-Yo.
