The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), stated that Congress will provide “all the expertise” it had in voting on the Covid-19 pandemic to support voting on measures in Rio Grande do Sul.
“The Chamber of Deputies never closed its doors in times of difficulty. It was like this during the pandemic that we, with all the expertise developed in the votes, served the sectors that suffered the most”, said Lira, at an event announcing federal government measures this Thursday, 9. “I would like to reaffirm all our commitment to be attentive.”
In his speech, the deputy from Alagoas highlighted the need for all attention to be paid to basic areas in the State, such as security. Lira stated that she had spoken earlier with the Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, about the topic. “Rio Grande do Sul needs all the attention from the federal government,” he commented.
The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Luís Roberto Barroso, who also spoke at the ceremony, cited the financial contributions that the Judiciary can offer in the face of the calamity situation. “We suspended all procedural deadlines relating to the State and established the support and monitoring committee within the CNJ so that we can help with everything that concerns the Judiciary, and I hope that we can transfer even more resources”, he commented.
