Can you imagine living in a place where the fauna is not puppies and kittens and when you go outside you could find yourself face to face with a lion or a tiger? This is common in certain parts of the world, such as Kenya, in East Africa, where many communities face this type of situation on a daily basis and have to learn how to act in cases of possible conflict between humans and wild animals.
Something like this happened to the citizens of Kiangua, in Meru County, when a neighbor was frozen to discover a lion hiding in the bushes. In these cases, the Kenyan community knows the action protocols, so the man did not hesitate to notify the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), to control the situation.
However, the story took a very strange turn because what began with total panic ended in comical relief. After the call, the KWS experts would try for several minutes to protect the animal, but something was not right, because the king of the jungle did not flinch with all the fuss he had caused, almost as if he was bored with the useless effort to capture it.
For this reason, the elements of the service ventured to get closer to try to see some kind of movement in the eyes or the body of the feline. But it was at that precise moment that the color would return to their faces because they realized that it was not a living being, but a bag decorated entirely with the face of a lion.
Once the object was identified, the KWS employees wasted no time and shared the hilarious situation on their official Twitter account. Facebookwhere they explained how the harrowing moments before making the amusing discovery of the Carrefour bag had unfolded.
Meru’s KWS team rushed to the scene in an attempt to defuse the human-wildlife confrontation. Upon arrival, KWS officers were shocked to discover that the ‘alleged lion’ was a lion print bag.
In the same way, the operators did not miss the situation to congratulate the members of the community for their quick action, as well as making the kind invitation to attend the Meru National Park, where they could see wild animals with all the necessary security measures.
Despite this being a false alarm, we commend the public for raising the alarm to mitigate a potential conflict.
