Linda Evangelista says she doesn’t want to date anymore: “I don’t want to sleep with anyone anymore”

Supermodel Linda Evangelista, aged 58, said she no longer wants to be romantically involved with anyone in an interview with the British newspaper The Sunday Times.

“I don’t want to sleep with anyone anymore,” Evangelista said. “I don’t want to hear someone breathing.”

She also said that the last time she was involved with someone was “definitely before” the cosmetic procedure that she claims went wrong, carried out in 2016.

In the interview, she admitted that she had not looked in the mirror since then and had gone through a period of seclusion because of her appearance.

At the time, she sued the company responsible for the aesthetic fat-freezing procedure, cryolipolysis, for $50 million, claiming that the technique increased, rather than decreased, certain areas of her body.

“Ah, I don’t look at myself in the mirror. My son sometimes says to me, ‘You might want to check if you have a pimple on your chin.’ But life is better without mirrors,” he said.

“Well, I don’t blame myself anymore. I’m not harsh on myself anymore. And how people feel about me still bothers me a little, but it used to bother me a lot. I know now that I did nothing wrong. For a long time, I thought I had done it. I’m not completely free [das sequelas], but I work to let go of the guilt and shame. And I won’t let it ruin my life. I wouldn’t have been locked up if I had known how many people cared about me,” Evangelista added.

The model is currently battling cancer for the second time.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Evangelista said he appealed to his doctor after the new diagnosis: “I opted for a bilateral mastectomy, thinking I would be free for the rest of my life. Breast cancer wouldn’t kill me. I said [ao médico]: ‘Blow a hole in my chest. I don’t want it to look pretty. I want you to dig. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. You understand me? I’m not going to die because of this.’”

After surgery, she took an approach of “celebration” and gratitude for her health.

“I know I have one foot in the grave, but I am totally in the mood for celebration. I went through horrible health problems. I’m at a point where I feel happy with my book [‘Linda Evangelista Fotografada por Steven Meisel’], with my life. I am immensely happy to be alive. Anything that comes now is profit,” she declared.
