LGBT+ parade in São Paulo will have cloudiness and chance of drizzle, says meteorologist

THE LGBTQIA+ Pride Parade which will take place in the city of Sao Paulo next Sunday (19) should have a lot of cloudiness and a chance of drizzle, according to Climatempo meteorologist Noele Brito.

In an interview with CNN this Saturday (18), she explained that the weather is being influenced by the passage of a cold front . “So there is a lot of cloudiness throughout the state of São Paulo. The capital has conditions for showers, but tomorrow for the Parade the condition is more than a drizzle”.

According to her, the forecast for Sunday is that the day will have a variation of cloudiness, with chances of some openings of sun, but with a predominance of clouds. The drizzle can occur throughout the day, but without strong intensity.

In the case of the South, a high pressure system that arrived in the region after a cold front brought a mass of dry and cold air, which should lead to a drop in temperature over the weekend and firm weather, without rains .

It is the opposite scenario in the Northeast, which still has a forecast of heavy rains. “We are under the influence of La Niña, a phenomenon that cools the surface waters of the Central Tropical Pacific Ocean. When we are under this influence, the rainfall in the Northeast is above the climatological average, both in the second half of June and in July and August, but from August onwards with more punctual episodes and starting to decrease”.

The forecast for the winter is for a deficit of rainfall throughout the Center-South, also due to the La Niña while the North and Northeast should have an above-average volume of precipitation.

“With La Niña, we have more cold air masses passing through the Center-South, so we’re going to have a lot of cold episodes, so much so that there’s even snow in the fall. The expectation is for a colder and more rigorous winter,” he says.
