Levante is back in blackberry, the whole story behind the transformation

Publicity stunt or not, Levante is back in the dark. The star who had attracted attention on the Sanremo 2023 stage after maternity leave by proposing a new, unusual look with blonde roots and blorange lengths, has turned around. And why she chose to do it, as well as to launch a new single, Summer songwe asked her trusted hair stylist, Graziella CassianelliL’Oréal Professionnel ambassador, and creator of his head shots.

As a blonde, many didn’t like her and Levante makes fun of the criticisms in a video she showed on social media, in which many Italian stars, her friends, including Fiorello, Pilar Fogliati, Valerio Lundini, Linus, Colapesce and Dimartino they repeated the comments she received during her time as a blonde.

«Because he wanted to make this color change and become not the usual blonde? You have to ask her. But I think it was to make an impactful return from motherhood. Visually it was different from her usual character, with a transformation so they talked about her, sometimes in a flattering way, sometimes not », commented the hair stylist Graziella Cassianelli. And now again, Levante changes and returns to blackberry.

How long did it take for this change?
«We started at 9 and went on until 5pm. There were some obligatory and necessary steps to go from blond to brown, because when you lighten all the pigments have to be removed and if you had to darken you had to follow the reverse process, the same facts for delete the color. To get to last February’s blonde, we first removed the red, then the orange and yellow to achieve the perfect nuance, the one Levante was asking for. When re-pigmenting, to prevent the color from draining quickly or the green, the first color that manifests itself if a brown composed of a large part of blue is superimposed on a blond/yellow, one must proceed step by step. In going back and reconstructing the color, the same steps are retraced, but in reverse. We worked on the very white root which was colored several times to make it golden and uniform it to the lengths and ends, then we had to modulate the brown».

Isn’t the new color your usual brown?
«No, because when she was blackberry, always retouching the coloring, at a certain point it had become black. Now she has a warmer nuance, chocolate brown, which harmonizes well with the complexion and eyebrows, because after bleaching them for Sanremo, in February, we never touched them again and slowly they returned to their natural colour. Eyebrows have a life of their own, in the sense that they fall out and automatically regenerate. In practice, another hair is born in the same bulb. In this way you do not notice it and the eyebrows that you had bleached slowly disappear due to the replacement of the hair and return to the starting color ».

Here’s the big question, why did she get brown again?
«I think the time for that “madness” of changing looks and proposing something with an impact has passed. We knew she could go back to being a brunette anytime she wanted. In short, he was certain that she would not remain blonde all her life. As a brunette inside her, every time I suggested she switch to blonde, she said “no, never in life”. So the day she told me “I want them like this”, I was ready, because, in any case, I find that Claudia is fine in both ways. I really liked that color rose gold. But I understand that it was a heavy commitment for her to keep the blonde in her long hair. In Sanremo every two by three we were there to cover the inch of regrowth. Therefore the problem was just the color management in everyday life, why couldn’t it have a dark root, then a platinum blonde bit and a more golden bit on the lengths and ends. In its blackberry version, it really likes itself. When I finished doing her color and styling, I said to him: “It’s like you’ve never been blonde”».

How did you manage to change so radically while preserving hair health?
«We used an acid coloring, Dia Light by L’Oréal Professionnel, which in addition to penetrating inside the hair shaft, does not sensitize like an alkaline, since it simultaneously helps to close the scales. So we safeguarded her beautiful hair that we didn’t cut even an inch. Also, using the protocol Metal Detox, prevents the accumulation of metals contained in the water and in the air which, if deposited in the shafts, make the hair more fragile, and by making moisturizing packs we have avoided damage. The decision to return to its natural color, which is less problematic and aggressive than bleaching, makes maintenance at home easier».

What do you think of the comments you received when you were blonde?
“I believe that wickedness has no limits. I too heard crazy accusations made, as if as a Levante hair stylist I hadn’t been up to making a suitable choice and I felt like answering, then I realized that it wouldn’t have any effect, if not to mount the hair more controversy. We deliberately kept the roots clearer but in the chats of the hairdressers they told me about each one, because they didn’t understand that we wanted to do something in contrast to the classic blond, so no one could tell you copied here or there. Usually the root is left darker and everything else a little lighter, but if we had done what we have always done, Madonna and many others have done it, there would have been nothing different from the canonical models of the blonde. We received all kinds of messages, and Claudia and I said to each other but “do you write that she sang well or did she sing badly? Do not write that she has hair that does not suit her, that is, what do you care ”. No one took Levante into consideration as a singer, as a professional, so it wasn’t worth responding to the comments. In the world, however, everyone is free to do what they want, to choose the color of their hair and what they want to be».
