Lenovo presented many new products at the dscnfdre Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company is updating its ThinkPad lineup with Qualcomm Snapdragon single-chip systems for better performance in addition to a 165Hz display refresh rate.
The ThinkPad X13s model received a screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The ThinkPad X13s is the first Lenovo model to feature the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 SoC, which Qualcomm claims delivers up to 60% improvement over other alternative platforms. The improvements also show up in the ThinkPad X13s’ extended battery life, combined with excellent portability.
The ThinkPad X13 weighs just 1.06kg, which is an excellent figure. It is very easy to carry with one hand. The lack of a cooling fan system helped keep the X13 lighter, but Snapdragon’s excellent cooling mechanism means minimal heat generation and overall efficiency. The model is also durable and made from 90% recycled magnesium. The ThinkPad X13 line starts at $1,099 and will be available in May 2022.
In addition to the ThinkPad X13s, Lenovo also introduced a number of new products at MWC 2022. The company has a couple of Chromebooks and tablets in its lineup. Some of the Windows 11 laptops announced by the company include:
- Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 and ThinkBook 13s Gen 4 are equipped with 12th generation Intel Core processors. They also feature a two-tone aluminum chassis and support Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E.
- The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 5 takes gaming to the next level as it features a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 H-series processor and supports up to 64GB of LPDDR5x memory
- The ThinkPad T series is available in both Intel and AMD versions. While the Intel model is equipped with 12th generation Intel Core, the AMD version is equipped with Ryzen Pro 6000 series processors. The laptop display has a 16:10 aspect ratio
