The Brazilian actor and voice actor Leandro Hassum 50, spoke to CNN this Sunday (30), at the premiere of “Despicable Me 4” in São Paulo, about the meeting with the North American artist Steve Carell 61. The two voice the character Gru, protagonist of the franchise.
“It was amazing. Firstly because I’ve always been a fan of Steve Carrell. He’s a guy who came from improvisation. This meeting with him, talking about this character, I could see in his eyes the love he has for Gru, which is the same love I have”, he said.
“He does such an incredible voice acting. It’s not really a voice acting, it’s such an incredible creation, where I can have so many weapons to do a good voice acting and have the success that the whole Despicable Me and Minions franchise has,” he continued.
Hassum’s meeting with Carell will air on Show da Vida, on Fantástico. On social media, the Brazilian artist shared a record of the moment. see below.

It was a very exciting day to chat with “O GRU” in the Evil Favorite franchise, to be able to talk to him about his creative process. Wow, what a special day!”, he wrote in the caption of the publication.
The fourth film in the franchise “My favorite evil” arrives in Brazilian cinemas on Thursday (4).
