Lazza turns 30, from his grandfather’s accordion to the arrival of his first child: the journey of a stubborn rapper

Lazza, pseudonym of Jacopo Lazzarini, was born on August 22, 1994 and is celebrating his 30th birthday on holiday in Ibiza, together with his partner Greta Orsingher, with whom he is expecting a child, and friends, including Geolier.

On Instagram he shows himself blowing out candles and kissing his girlfriend’s belly.

We don’t know if it’s true that, as Fabri Fibra says, until you’re 30 you don’t understand anything about life, but certainly Lazza knows his stuff when it comes to music: from 2012 to 2024 he released 3 studio albums, two EPs, 3 mixtapes and over 30 singles. With Siriusthe 2022 album, went 8x platinum.

Much time has passed since I was a child, he looked at his grandfather’s accordion in rapture: «I tried to play it but it was bigger than me. Then he gave me a Bontempi keyboard. By ear I tried to make cartoon songs, I played with one hand. Then I took piano lessons and I entered the “Giuseppe Verdi” conservatory in Milan».

He soon started mixing things up a bit, as he told the Evening Courier: «I was lucky enough to be able to study at an important conservatory, but also to gain experience by attending the mythical wall of San Babilaalong with many hip hop enthusiasts. I’ve never abandoned classical music, I continue to play it and I find some of my idols: like Chopin, who I also have tattooed on my calf».

In Lazza’s mixes, the hardness of rap music goes well not only with classical music, but also with a particular affection towards his mother.. He surprised everyone at Sanremo when at the end of the performance he went to bring flowers to his mother sitting on the stage. He said, interviewed by Mara Venier at Sunday In: «I wanted to show my love to a great self-made woman. For years I didn’t let her sleep, I was lively and curious even as a child”. Not that I had a difficult childhood, however: “I’m not a person who had particular misfortunes: I wasn’t born under a bridge, I grew up in a normal family. But I always suffered because I felt different from others, even as a child. There were many things that interested the normal child that did not interest me.

One of his first projects was the EP K1 of 2012 and from there it was an inexorable climb towards fame. In 2017 the first studio album was released, Zalaand produces songs for some colleagues (Ernia, Salmo, Nitro). In 2019 the album arrives King Midas with relevant featuring and collaborations: Guè Pequeno, Fabri Fibra, Izi, Tedua and Luchè, Giaime and Kaydy Cain, Low Kidd and Dolcenera. When he arrived in 2022 Sanremohe was already famous in the rap scene. With Ash to the Festival he said he “wanted to bring the ladies” to his concerts.

When asked if he expected all this success, he admits: «I hoped so. Expecting it is not a nice thing to say. Hoping, yes. I worked hard on it, I’m stubborn, headstrong. When I was working on something important to me, I didn’t eat or sleep.” And not only in music, because he put the same effort into installing air conditioners. He told in the podcast PoretCast by Giacomo Poretti: «I went to work to pay for my vacation. I was good, I swear. I was making a pittance, like 300 euros, I worked 13-14 hours a daybut I was happy. I liked it, I enjoyed it. I I am a competitive person: if I put my mind to something I have to do it well, I have to do it better than anyone else.”

Doing things to the best of your ability, maybe doing just one thing but perfectly: this is also the reason why he left the conservatory. «Sometimes I regret it, but I think it’s better to do just one thing well». It would seem that he succeeded.
