HMD Global has released a software update based on the Android 11 operating system for the Nokia 5.3 smartphone.

Nokia 5.3 is a low-cost model that debuted in early 2020. Initially, Android 10 was installed on the smartphone, and the company promised to release an update to Android 11 during the announcement, but did not set a timeline.
Users in Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan and Vietnam will be the first to receive the update from Android 11. All Nokia 5.3 users in these regions should receive the update by August 6th. Following them will come the turn of other regions.
The update is 1.67 GB in size. In addition to the standard Android 11 innovations, the update contains the July 2021 Android security update.
