The arrest of 234 suspects was announced today by the Turkish authorities in the context of large dimensions of an international operation against organized crime. “234 members of important groups of organized crime were arrested, 225 within the country and 9 abroad,” Interior Minister Ali Germany said, clarifying that the arrests were made in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Belgium. The detainees include members of organizations involved in the trafficking of cocaine, heroin, ecstasy on many continents, the Turkish interior minister added.
