The meeting of the Governmental National Security Council under the Prime Minister, K. Mitsotakis, was held at Megaros Maximos, with the main topic of guarding the borders at Evros, which ended shortly after 18.30.

It was decided to extend the fence across the Evros. Priority will be given to those points that will be indicated by the relevant ministries and the GEETHA.

According to information prior to the meeting, an assessment of the situation so far will be carried out both by the Ministry of National Defense and by the Greek police.

At the same time, it is expected that there will be operational analyzes related to the further strengthening of guarding measures, as well as information on prevention projects along the entire length of the Evros.

The government speaks of a hybrid attack on our country, with Mr. Economou referring, from the journalists’ briefing room, to the new attempt to use immigration as a tool by the Turkish authorities.

“It is extremely revealing that in the last few days 60 smugglers have been arrested and brought to the Greek courts.
