Russia must maintain its stance and continue what it calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine in response to Western military fervor, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday, according to the Kremlin agency. Russian state news RIA Novosti.
At the same time, Peskov stated that the West did not have unanimity of opinion regarding the Ukrainian Army's attacks with Western weapons on Russian territory.
The Kremlin spokesman had already said on Monday (27) that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is in direct confrontation with Russia and that the military alliance led by the United States is increasing the conflict in Ukraine with military rhetoric.
The Interfax news agency quoted Peskov as saying that comments made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg were contradictory.
Stoltenberg told The Economist that NATO members who supply weapons to Ukraine must end the ban on using them to strike military targets in Russia.
