In celebration of Brazil’s 200 years of independence and in honor of several workers such as maids, nurses, waiters, bus collectors, muralist Eduardo Kobra exhibits 30 panels with his works on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo.
THE CNN Kobra said that these workers make their lives the real work of art and for that reason, he decided to turn them into painting.
“They are the real engine of the country. They are the ones who wake up every day at 5am or 6am, who work, who fight and who have very important stories”.
The panels are installed on the Paulista bike lane. Underneath each work is information about Kobra’s inspiration for each painting.
The exhibition “The 200 Years of Independence and Us Workers” will be available until May 31
For the artist, “there are many questions of dignity to be conquered [pelos trabalhadores]”.
