A knife attack in France has killed 3 and left many injured. The attack took place on Thursday in the city of Nice.
Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, stated that the incident was a terrorist attack. The attacker killed 2 women and 1 man in the Notre Dam basilica and stabbed many others. According to the statements tweeted by the Mayor, one woman had been beheaded.
The French police has detained the attacker. From the information available as of yet, the attack seems eerily similar to the beheading of a French teacher that took place almost two weeks ago.
The French National Assembly observed a minute of silence for the deceased. President Macron has left to visit the city and the Interior Minister held a crisis meeting to discuss the attack.

The French Council of Muslim Faith strongly condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the victims and their families.
This unfortunate incident comes at a time when France is already faced with the danger of a societal division. French president Emanuel Macron’s stance against Islam and Muslims and his backing of practices disrespecting the religion have left the Muslim population in his country hurt and worried.
A boycott of French products has also been called by Turkey. Many super markets in Muslim countries have taken products from France off of their shelves.
