King Charles invites Trump to visit the United Kingdom in September

President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday that he was invited by King Charles III to visit the United Kingdom in September.

“It’s an honor to be, you know, Charles’s friend. I have great respect for King Charles and the family, William. We really have a great respect for the family,” said the president. “And I think they are setting a date for September.”

United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Strmer delivered a letter from King Charles to Trump in February during a visit to the White House, inviting the president for a second state visit. Trump accepted and said he intends to plan the trip soon.

Strmer told Trump at the Oval Hall that two state visits to the same world leader “never happened before.”
