King Charles and the Coronation: How to Mingle with the Royals at the Exclusive Concert

The day after the coronation of King Charles III, which will take place on May 6th, this momentous event will be celebrated with a spectacular concert at Windsor Castle. The population was given the opportunity to secure a coveted place event, even if there are only a few days left when the ticket draw closes.

There are 5,000 tickets availablebut each of those drawn will be able to bring with them a lucky high, for a total of 10,000 tickets. Standing places and the possibility to participate in the draw only for those living in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man (and for soldiers of the British Force). As announced on the official social profiles of the British royal family, during the event, which will be held on the evening of Sunday 7 May, “an orchestra of international caliber will perform interpretations of great classics of music presented by some of the greatest entertainers in the world together with exponents of the world of dance and art”. To enrich the extraordinary multi-sensory show will contribute «set-up and effects on the eastern lawn of the castle, as well as a selection of speeches by theater and cinema stars».

The Coronation concert will be staged and broadcast live at Windsor Castle from BBC and come on BBC Studios. As announced on the BBC website, audiences at home will be able to tune in to BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds. The BBC added that the concert “will bring together music icons and contemporary celebrities (…) to celebrate this historic occasion”.

The audience present will include “volunteers from the numerous charities affiliated with the king and queen consort”. As for the participants in the draw, “the 10,000 tickets are not assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so there is the same chance of being selected if you apply on February 10 as on February 28, 2023”. The ticket draw is managed by ticketmasters and is now available to attendees at ticketmaster.co.uk.

The long holiday weekend will begin Saturday 6 May with the coronation of the king and queen consort in a lavish service at Westminster Abbey; they will follow, Sunday, the “Large Coronation Lunch” and the Coronation Concert; finally Monday 8 May with the Big Help Outa day dedicated to volunteering.
