“Killers of the Flower Moon”: see interesting facts about Martin Scorsese’s film

The filmmaker's new film Martin Scorsese , “Killers of the Flower Moon” , arrived on Apple TV+ this Friday (12). The 3h30 long film premiered in Brazilian cinemas on October 12, 2023.

1. The film is a true crime thriller based on one of the FBI's first homicide cases, when the organization was created by J. Edward Hoover;
2. Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone learned to speak the Osage language for the film;
3. Although Martin Scorsese has worked with Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio on 16 films, this is the first time the three have worked together on the same production;
4. It is also the first time in 30 years that DiCaprio and De Niro have acted together in a film, after their first collaboration in “The Awakening”;

   

5. This is Martin Scorsese's 21st feature film with editor Thelma Schoonmaker. Their working partnership has lasted seven decades, and Thelma is the only woman to receive three Oscars in the editing category (“Raging Bull”, “The Aviator” and “The Departed”);
6. The film's director of photography, Rodrigo Prieto, was director of photography on three of Taylor Swift's music videos: “The Man”, “Cardigan” and “Willow”;
7. Paul Thomas Anderson suggested art director Jack Fisk to Scorsese for this project after having worked with him on “There Will Be Blood,” which is also set in the 1920s. Fisk builds his sets from scratch, rather than using studios for recording. computer-generated sound or models;
8. Both Hale's (Robert De Niro) house and Mollie's (Lily Gladstone) cottage were built from scratch;
9. The character Jesse Plemons plays, Tom White, was a true Texan and one of the only FBI agents J. Edgar Hoover allowed to wear a cowboy hat;
10. Many of the costumes included pieces made available by the Osage actors, which belonged to their grandparents, who lived during the period portrayed in the film;
