The debut of Luciano Vidigal in direction, with the film “Kasa Branca “, won its first trailer. The production of Showcase Films hits theaters in January 23 .
Inspired by real events, the film follows Dé (Big Jaum ), a young man from the outskirts of Chatuba who starts living with his grandmother, Dona Almerinda (Teak Pereira ), diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and with little time left to live. Alongside his two longtime friends, Adrianim (Diego Francisco ) and Martins (Ramon Francisco ), Dé struggles to make the most of his time with his grandmother.
The cast also includes rapper L7nnon, DJ Zullu and Gi Fernandes Babu Santana, Roberta Rodrigues , Octavio Muller and Guti Fraga . In addition to directing, Vidigal also wrote the film’s script.
“Kasa Branca” won the awards for Best Direction, Best Supporting Actor for Diego Francisco, Best Cinematography and Best Soundtrack at the Rio Festival. The film was shown at the 48th São Paulo International Film Festival, in 17th Zózimo Bulbul Black Cinema Meeting and in Janela do Recife Festival .
