K-pop girl group TWICE aims to top the Billboard charts

With a lively new album about love and friendship and a world tour underway that recently passed through Brazil, the K-pop girl group TWICE is eyeing a new record on Billboard's main chart. This was said by the group itself to Reuters.

The nine-member group has helped propel the global K-pop phenomenon since their debut in 2015, driven by upbeat songs and catchy verses and choreography.

O TWICE released his album “With YOU-th” this Friday (23). The English single “I Got You” was released at the beginning of the month.

In an interview with Reuters, the TWICE members said they were happy to perform as a group after focusing on solo activities over the past year.

The single “I Got You” topped iTunes' best-selling songs list in 41 regions, according to JYP Entertainment Corp, the company that manages TWICE, and the group is aiming for a higher spot on Billboard's main chart.

“I have a dream. I will be very happy if we get a high score on Billboard, even if it's not number 1,” said Chaeyoung.

TWICE resumed their fifth world tour, performing in São Paulo and Mexico City this month and will visit Las Vegas in March. In July, the band members will become the first foreign female artists to play at the Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan.

Like many other K-pop groups, TWICE faces tight schedules and public pressure, but “letting things go” and strength as a group helped its members cope, they said.

Jeongyeon also said he took boxing classes to relax.

“You need to learn to trust the people around you and get help from them, and not do everything yourself,” Mina said.
