The singer Justin Timberlake 43, joked onstage about his recent arrest during a show over the weekend in Boston.
He was arrested after being approached by a police officer in Sag Harbor, New York, on June 18. According to documents obtained by Peoplethe star allegedly went straight through a stop sign and was unable to “stay in the correct lane.”
Last weekend, Justin performed at the TD Garden in Boston and, during the show, he joked about his problems with the law. “So is there anyone here tonight who is driving? No, I’m just joking”, said the artist in a video captured by a fan and shared on X, formerly Twitter.
After the audience reacted with laughter, the singer continued: “Is there anyone here tonight who is on the show for the first time? Is there anyone here who has come to one, two, three, maybe four of our shows? To all of you who are here for the first time tonight – seriously now – I hope you feel the fellowship and the love.”
Justin claimed to have had “only one martini” after being taken into custody, but the arresting officer claimed that the NSYNC member’s eyes were “bloodshot and contracted,” and that a strong odor of alcohol was coming from his breath. The musician was also described as “disoriented, having difficulty concentrating, slow speech, unsteady walking, and performing poorly on all field sobriety tests administered.”
Justin is due back in court on the 26th to answer the charges.
