“What justified the arrest of the accused was the need to guarantee the physical and mental integrity of the victim. However, with the arrest of the victim, there is no longer any basis for maintaining the prison, as the accused has no means of having contact with her,” said the TJRJ in a note to CNN .

“In addition, protective measures were established in the event that the victim was released. It is not possible to have access to more information because the process is being processed in secrecy of justice.”

Passional crime

Susane was arrested on Wednesday (24) in the Acari neighborhood, in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, on suspicion of poisoning another woman.

According to investigations, the victim, Lindaci Viegas Batista de Carvalho, 54, was poisoned on her birthday.

On May 20, a Saturday, Lindaci received a bouquet of flowers and chocolates from an anonymous person. She went to a beauty salon with the gift and, after eating the chocolate, she felt sick.

The woman was taken to the Federal Hospital of Andaraí, but died in the unit.

According to the police, the bonbons were delivered by a motorcycle courier who would have been hired by Susane’s son.

The police reached the accused after the motoboy was identified and he attended the 39th DP (Pavuna) to provide clarification.

Investigations show that the crime would have been motivated because Susane had a relationship with Lindaci’s ex-partner, and suspected that the man was cheating on her with the victim and decided to take revenge.

The police served a warrant for the arrest of the accused for double homicide, caused by poisoning and futile motive.
