A man attacked a judge during the reading of his sentence this Wednesday morning (3). The case took place at the Clark County courthouse in Las Vegas, Nevada and was captured on court cameras.
Delone Redden, 30, was receiving his sentence after being charged with attempted assault causing bodily harm, according to records. He pleaded guilty and his lawyer asked Judge Mary Kay Holthus to release his client on bond. She declined due to Redden's criminal history.
It was then that the accused ran towards the magistrate, jumped over the bench and attacked her. Several court employees struggled with Redden, trying to restrain him and throw him to the ground.
Judge Holthus suffered minor injuries and her condition is being monitored. A court guard involved in the incident was hospitalized after the attack.
