John Cena, franchise star “Fast and furious” , revived a historic Oscar moment this Sunday night (10). When chosen to present the category of “Best Costume” In the 96th edition of the awards, the actor ended up opting for an unusual look (or almost so) in reference to an iconic event from 1974.
Appearing half naked wearing only the Oscar envelope that said “Best Costume Design” in front of his intimate area, John Cena mentioned the edition from 50 years ago, where a man “interrupted” the award ceremony by running naked across the stage.

The winner of the category ended up being the film “Poor Creatures”.
The year was 1974 and actor David Niven was giving a speech to introduce Elizabeth Taylor – chosen to announce the big winner in the “Best Film” category – when the guests began to react unexpectedly.
When he realized the situation, Niven came across Robert Opel running naked across the stage. The act of the photographer and activist for LGBTQIAP+ rights was a criticism of conservative society and was marked in the history of the award.
