Joe Biden’s dog deemed unworthy of US president

In the United States, we do not joke with the dogs of presidents. From George Washington to Barack Obama, all the tenants of the White House had one. Only Donald Trump has departed from the rule. With Joe Biden, the long tradition has resumed as the new Head of State has moved into his new official residence with his two German Shepherds: Champ and Major.

An event which the American press reveled in, but which also gave rise to lunar sequences. Thus, on Saturday February 20, on the conservative Newsmax channel, the eldest of the two presidential dogs was the subject of a debate between historians, reports the media TMZ.

Bad hygiene, badly brushed, “disgusting” …

On this occasion, the 12-year-old canine was deemed too old, ugly and neglected, but above all unworthy of a President of the United States… To discuss this highly sensitive subject, the host Greg Kelly called on two specialists of presidential history. He showed them a photo of Champ, and the two “experts” lambasted his general hygiene, the fact that he was badly brushed and deemed him downright “disgusting”, comparing him to a “dump” dog. They also felt that Champ could not compete with Victory, the spaniel of Ronald Reagan or Millie, the English springer of George Bush Sr..

Besides the absurdity of such a debate, this sequence is reminiscent of the “scandal” of Barack Obama’s beige suit in 2014, recalls TMZ. At the time, he gave a press conference on the crisis in Ukraine and the conflicts in Syria and Iraq, but it was his clothes that attracted all the attention. This light suit tugged at cream tones and made the former president look like he was floating in his jacket. This outfit, considered old-fashioned, had sparked a wave of mockery on social networks and in the American media.
