His age Joe Biden and to what extent his 80 years allow him or not to exercise his presidential duties in the… maximum once again concerns the public opinion of USA after what took place at the White House during the reception of its president IsraelIsaac Herzog on Tuesday (7/18).
Joe Biden kept looking at the notes his aides had prepared for him, without looking up, while he struggled to pronounce the names of cities such as Aqaba, Jordan, and Sharm El Sheikh, Egyptwhere the meetings between Israelis and Palestinians took place some time ago, with the participation of representatives of the USA and the most powerful states of the Middle East.
Herzog, in fact, seems to have come to an uncomfortable position with the behavior of the US president and in several moments of their conversation he did not know how to react.

Political debate
Given that the USA is now in a pre-election period, Joe Biden’s every move is under the microscope of his political opponents and the pro-Republican media. His falls and other accidents or sardams make… headlines.
It was also commented on the fact that while talking to Herzog he did not raise his head and constantly looked down. On social media, users, journalists and political opponents wondered if he was having trouble staying awake or if he was… praying. Others noted that Herzog was waiting to be told it was all a hoax…

What Biden said
“This is a friendship, I believe, that is just unbreakable,” said Joe Biden, who read from notes on his knees rather than looking Herzog in the face for most of his minute-long public remarks before reporters filed out of the room.
“Together we are working to bring more security and integration to the Middle East. Hard work, we still have a lot to do, but there is progress,” said the American president.
The 80-year-old president then outlined some of his administration’s initiatives, including backing a maritime border agreement between Israel and Lebanon and supporting Saudi Arabia and Oman’s decisions to allow Israeli flights over their territory.
“As I assured Prime Minister Netanyahu yesterday, America’s commitment to Israel is steadfast and steely, and we are also committed to ensuring that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons,” the US president added.
