Jim Carrey jokes he returned to “Sonic 3” because he “needed the money”

The actor Jim Carrey, 62, said in the past who had probably ended his participation in the “Sonic 3 – The Movie” franchise, but now claims to have a good reason to change your mind .

He spoke to the Associated Press during the British premiere of the film, this Tuesday (10), in which he resumed his role as the villain Dr. Robotnik.

Carrey was reminded that he had said that to return he would need “a script written in gold ink by angels.”

“That might have been an exaggeration, but yes,” Carrey said, after laughing. “You know, I came back to this universe because, first of all, I get to play a genius. Which is a bit forced.”

During the promotion of “Sonic 2 – The Movie” in 2022, Carrey told Access Hollywood that he was “pretty serious” about retiring from acting.

“If the angels bring some kind of script written in gold ink that tells me it will be really important for people to see, I can stay on the path,” he said at the time. “But I’m taking a break.”
