A jiboa of more than one meter was seen by students from the Faculty of Architecture of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in Salvador.
The animal was wrapped in a tree on the campus, which has a large green area.
“A friend of mine commented on the snake that was on the tree and we went there to see,” said Thiago Simões, 20, an architecture and urbanism student, CNN .
“It was a relatively large snake, which causes a little insecurity when we see, because we are not so used to seeing animals in the middle of the city.”
Despite the fright, Thiago says it is not the first time snakes appear at the university. “We have a lot of green area, it is normal for them to have monkeys, owls and tamarins in the region, which must have attracted the snake into the campus.”
As a future architect and urban planner, he believes the episode is a warning. “This situation this situation shows how unrook of urban construction are unlikely and exert an aggressive impact on local fauna and flora.”
