Jesse Plemons was cast in “Civil War” days before shooting his scene

The director of “Civil war” , Alex Garland he revealed, in an interview with Los Angeles Timeswhat Jesse Plemons was cast at the last minute after an actor dropped out of the role. In the plot, he enters the scene as a soldier, and the viewer does not know which side of the war he is on.

“I was on the street when I got the call and I thought, 'Oh, shit. Now, now we're in trouble. And then I went to rehearsal and said 'Bad news, guys, so-and-so can't do this.' And Kirsten [Dunst] what did you say? You should ask Jesse. And I thought, Oh, that would be amazing,” he said.

“It was impressive luck. This makes it seem like I'm being disrespectful to the other actor. I'm not at all. It’s just that the film was very lucky to get Jesse,” he stated.

“Jesse was nearby. I was like, 'Let's ask Jesse to play this role,” Dunst added.

Despite the quick appearance, the scene starring Plemons is one of the most impactful in the film. Wagner Moura even revealed that he “lyed down on the grass and cried” after recording – understand the scene with spoilers here.

Dunst also described her husband's appearance and character in the title as “disturbing.”

“Civil war” follows a group of journalists on their way to Washington DC in the middle of a civil war in the United States to try to get a scoop on the President before the opposition takes power.

The plot is starred by Kirsten Dunst , Wagner Moura , Cailee Spaeny It is Stephen Henderson and arrives in Brazilian cinemas on Thursday (18).
