The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, arrived at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, this Saturday (26) to accompany Pope Francis’ funeral. The ceremony will be attended by dozens of heads of state.
More than 50 heads of state attend today’s funeral.
Some leaders have already been seen, including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, a Catholic who had a close relationship with Pope Francis. US President Donald Trump has just sat outside.
French President Emmanuel Macron has also paid his honors to the Coffin of Francis in the Basilica, which will soon be taken to St. Peter’s Square.
The ceremony will take place in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. Then there will be a funeral procession to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Francis will be buried. He will be the first pontiff in about 100 years to be buried outside the Vatican.

Who will participate in Pope Francis’ funeral?
Authorities expect more than 200,000 people to attend the funeral, including several global leaders and royalty members.
To date, about 50 heads of state have been confirmed, including US President Donald Trump, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Argentina’s president, Francisco’s homeland, and 10 reigning monarchs.
Leaders of Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and European Union institutions also confirmed their presence.
