The new film by Awkwafina , “Jackpot: Deadly Lottery” entered the Prime Video catalog this Thursday (15). Names like John Cena (“The Peacemaker”) and Simu Liu (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) also star in the production.
The plot is set in Los Angeles in 2030, where a lottery with an unusual rule has been created: whoever kills the winner by sunset on the day of the announcement can claim the prize.

When Katie, who has just arrived in town, becomes the big winner, she must fight to survive and enlists the help of Noel as she evades the bounty hunters.
Just like in the film, the actress revealed, in an interview with CNN who felt safe next to the actor and professional fighter John Cena to film action scenes. “I felt very confident in terms of safety with him. He is also very intelligent. We got along very well,” he said.
THE CNN Awkwafina, who was the first person of Asian descent to win Best Actress at the Golden Globes, also spoke about how much fun it is to make an action film.
“I think the best part is actually getting to play. It’s playful, it’s fun. Also, I think there’s a certain inner child that definitely comes out when you’re doing stunts. I really like the pace of it. I like what it demands of people in terms of collaboration and teamwork,” he said.
