“J-hope IN THE BOX”: 7 facts about BTS member who stars in documentary

Disney+ released this Friday (17) the documentary “J-Hope IN THE BOX”. The production follows J-Hope, star of the K-pop group BTS, as he works on creating his first solo album, “JACK IN THE BOX.”

The images include the challenges of the creation process, the performance at Lollapalooza 2022 and a listening party that featured several famous guests from South Korea.

Find out some interesting facts about the artist:

1 – Brazil’s favorite

Brazilian ARMYs (BTS fans) love all seven members of the group, but there’s no denying that J-Hope has a special relationship with Brazil. The rapper has already mentioned the country in several interviews and has the affectionate nickname of “Rafael” around here.

He even reposted a reel in his stories that showed a Portuguese translation of the song “Daydream”:

2 – BTS’s Sunshine

The rapper often draws attention in interviews because he is always full of energy. During an episode of the variety show “Run BTS”*, in which each member had forbidden words, one of J-Hope’s was “Hahaha” – the worst choice for him, as he is always laughing.

The gift of the game was to get water spray in the face whenever he said the words.

3 – But it’s a scary dance leader

When the sunbeam enters BTS’ dance leader mode, the other members find it “creepy”. Whenever one of them gets the choreography wrong, the first reaction is to look at J-Hope already wondering what he might say.

But her talent is remarkable even when it’s not a dance. In a video that shows the backstage of the group’s speech at the White House, it is possible to see him organizing the formation of the members so that at the time no one bumped into anyone.

4 – The first with a solo hit on the Billboard HOT 100

J-Hope became the first member of BTS to have a solo hit on the Billboard charts when “Chicken Noodle Soup” featuring singer Becky G peaked at No. 81 in 2019.

It is a remake of the 2006 song by artists Webstar and Young B, one of the first songs J-Hope learned to dance to. Coincidentally, Becky G also listened to it when she was younger. The duo’s version has lyrics in English, Spanish and Korean.

5 – He appears in Drake’s “In My Feelings” video

Kiki, do you love me? The Canadian rapper’s hit became an internet dance challenge featuring steps outside a moving car. J-Hope did the challenge, published it on Twitter and in just one month it already had 10 million views. Today, there are more than 28 million:

He ended up appearing in the official clip, which showed some trending videos, including Will Smith and Dua Lipa:

6 – First South Korean to headline Lollapalooza

J-Hope made history by performing in July 2022 in Chicago, in the North American edition of the festival, playing on the same date as names like Green Day and Charli XCX.

The show featured a surprise appearance by Becky G during the song “Chicken Noodle Soup”. Behind the scenes, the rapper had the support of friend and fellow BTS member Jimin.

However, the star had already released a mixtape in 2018 called “Hope World”.
