On the last Sunday of October (30/10), São Paulo is the stage for the Izakaya Matsuri a festival that celebrates the culture of izakayas, the traditional Japanese pubs.
The event takes place at the headquarters of Bunkyo (Brazilian Society of Japanese Culture and Social Assistance), in the Liberdade neighborhood, and brings together 14 izakayas from the city around food, sake, beer and karaoke.
The participating houses are: Donchan + Kintaro , Hikaru Restaurant and Karaoke , asian icon , Izakaya Picha , Imai Izakaya , kinboshi , Koya88 , Quito Quito , name , Sakaba omoid , Oriental Izakaya , yakitori , Yoshi Izakaya and Yorimichi .
The festival also counts with the special participation of Rogério Igarashi co-owner of the trench a small bar in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, which is currently on the 25th among the 50 best bars in Asia .
A bar run by the professional is active at various times during the event.
Throughout the festival, karaoke promises to pack visitors day and night with national and international music.
The Izakaya Matsuri is part of the 1st Week of Japanese Cuisine an event promoted by the Brazilian Association of Japanese Gastronomy (ABGJ) with tastings, dinners, lectures and a business fair.
