The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) announced this Thursday (5) that it has revoked the authorization of Itapemirim Transportes Aéreos to operate air services in the country, as well as the revocation of its Air Operator Certificate (COA) definitively. .
The airline’s certificate had been suspended since December 17, 2021, when Itapemirim announced the temporary suspension of its air operations. At the time, it was determined that the company would provide services to passengers and guarantee the reimbursement of the tickets sold.
Earlier this year, Anac also prohibited the sale of new tickets until Itapemirim relocated passengers or fully reimbursed those who opted for this form of compensation.
On May 4, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) sentenced Itapemirim to pay a fine of R$ 3 million for the failure to provide the service.
Since the suspension, 6,657 complaints have been registered against the company on the Consumidor.gov.br platform, but they have not been answered, causing Itapemirim to be excluded from the website.
