Italian tourist is rescued from helicopter after drowning in Salvador

One Italian tourist was rescued by firefighters With the help of a helicopter on the afternoon of last Thursday (24) after drowning at Barra Beach, Salvador. The incident occurred amid a busy sea under cloudy sky.

According to reports, the tourist was part of a group and drowned after entering the sea. One of the tourists managed to return to the bank alone, but the other fought the current and began to drown.

A video released by the firefighters recorded the moment of air rescue. See below:


According to the Fire Department, the victim was removed from conscious water and sent by Samu for medical attention. The current state of health was not disclosed.

In a statement, firefighters warned of care in aquatic environments, especially in unknown places and under unfavorable sea conditions, reinforcing the importance of seeking guard guidance and avoiding alcohol consumption before bathing.
