Italgas is expected to complete the acquisition of DEPA Infrastructure in July, the CEO of the Italian company Paolo Gallo said today, Wednesday, as reported by Reuters.
In particular, the Group, which manages about 74,000 kilometers of natural gas pipelines, announced that it will invest 8.6 billion euros by 2028 to complete the upgrade of its Italian network and to modernize the natural gas network in Greece.
In the previous business plan, Italgas committed 7.9 billion euros in capital expenditures.
The new plan for 2028 envisages investments of 4.5 billion euros for Italy and 1.8 billion for Greece by 2028.
Italgas, which reached an agreement last year for the acquisition of DEPA Infrastructure for 733 million euros, said it would consolidate with the Greek company in the last four, five months of this year.
“The bulk of the investment is for the expansion, digital transformation and upgrading of the distribution network to create the conditions for the widespread use of new gases, such as biomethane, green hydrogen and synthetic methane,” said Italgas CEO Paolo Gallo.
