“It is in Russia’s interest to ignite war,” says Zelenksy about Israel

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said this Monday (9) that it is in Russia’s interest to ignite war in the Middle East to weaken global unity.

“Based on the information available, very clear information, it is in Russia’s interest to ignite war in the Middle East to create a new source of pain and suffering that would weaken global unity, create divisions and help Russia undermine freedom in Europe.” , said Zelensky.

Still according to the Ukrainian leader, Russian propagandists were “elated” by the events and that Iran, which he described as Moscow’s ally, openly supported those who attacked Israel.

“All of this represents a much greater threat than the world currently realizes,” Zelenskiy quoted.

“And we know how to combat this threat. We are preparing the necessary measures. Most importantly, we are defending the need for maximum global unity,” he continued.

Zelensky, in a call last Sunday (8) with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Ukraine is in “solidarity with Israel, which is facing a brazen and large-scale attack.”

The Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated, without providing evidence, that Russian foreign intelligence was trying to use the conflict in Israel to act against Ukraine.

The Ukrainians also said that Russian services handed over to Hamas weapons seized during the fighting in Ukraine with the aim of later accusing Kiev of trafficking Western weapons to terrorists.

“This is yet another provocation by the enemy aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian Armed Forces and preventing military assistance to our country from its Western partners.”
