Authorized service centers in different cities of Russia do not have enough parts to repair Xiaomi smartphones – Izvestia was told about this in the SCs themselves. The biggest shortages are displays and batteries, these are the components most in demand among customers.
Some service centers have stopped repairing Xiaomi devices out of warranty, others still repair them, but they order the necessary parts after the fact – sometimes the delivery time is up to 40 days.
Analyst Eldar Murtazin is sure that the problem is the too rapid growth in sales of Xiaomi gadgets. It is not the Chinese manufacturer itself that is importing spare parts into the country, but its partners. In addition to this, the services did not count on such a large volume of current sales of Chinese smartphones in Russia.
Nevertheless, unauthorized service centers do not have such difficulties that official service centers experience. With a similar price for device repair, they repair gadgets even on the day the client calls. However, when using the services of unauthorized service centers, the owners of Xiaomi gadgets lose the official warranty – this was emphasized by Telecom Daily CEO Denis Kuskov and added that such organizations can use non-original components, which in all cases are worse in quality.
