The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that an explosion in the Jabalia refugee camp, in Gaza, this Wednesday (1st), was caused by an air strike. It was the second consecutive day of bombing at the site.
“Earlier today, based on accurate intelligence, IDF fighters attacked a Hamas command and control complex in Jabalia. We can confirm that the Hamas terrorists were eliminated in the attack,” the Israeli statement said.
“Hamas deliberately builds its terrorist infrastructure under, around and within civilian buildings, intentionally endangering the civilians of Gaza.
The IDF has been urging Gazans in this neighborhood to evacuate as part of its efforts to mitigate harm to civilians. The IDF continues to appeal to all residents of northern Gaza and Gaza City to evacuate to the south, to a safer area”, argues the institution.
On Tuesday (31), an attack on the refugee camp left catastrophic damage and at least 50 dead, according to eyewitnesses and local authorities. Israel claims it targeted and killed a top Hamas commander. The radical Islamic group vehemently denied the presence of one of its leaders in the camp.
