Israel warned US before attacking Hezbollah stronghold south of Beirut: source

Israel informed the United States before attacking a Hezbollah stronghold south of Beirut on Tuesday (30), according to a source.

The source said the warning was passed through security channels. They did not say when it was passed on.

According to Israel, the target was a Hezbollah commander who was responsible for an attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Hezbollah crossed “red line”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Hezbollah had “crossed a red line.”

“Hezbollah has crossed the red line,” Gallant posted on X, minutes after the Israeli military claimed responsibility for the offensive.

Case comes after deaths in the Golan Heights

Israel’s strike comes after it vowed earlier this week that Hezbollah would “pay the price” for a rocket attack on a soccer field that killed 12 children and wounded 44 people in the town of Majdal Shams, near the borders with Syria and Lebanon.

The offensive, carried out on Saturday (27), raised fears that an “all-out war” could be unleashed in the region.

Israel and the United States blamed Hezbollah for the attack. Hezbollah denied responsibility.
