Israel War: More than 16,000 people died in the Gaza Strip, says Hamas

Israeli forces have killed at least 16,248 people, including 7,112 children and 4,885 women, in the Gaza Strip since October 7, a statement from the Hamas communications office said on Tuesday (5).

In addition, at least 43,616 people were injured and another 7,600 were missing, according to the agency.

“During the aggression against Gaza, Israeli forces dropped more than 50,000 tons of explosives on civilian homes, hospitals, schools and other institutions, resulting in the complete destruction of 52,000 housing units, 69 schools, 121 government buildings and 100 mosques,” said the armed group.

Israeli troops surround Khan Younis

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claim that its troops are “in the heart of Khan Younis”, in the southern part of Gaza.

The commander of the IDF Southern Command, Major General Yaron Finkelman, described this Tuesday (5) as “the most intense day since the start of the ground operationin terms of terrorists killed, number of shootings and use of ground and air firepower.

Later, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi highlighted that Israeli troops are surrounding the city.
