Thriller with the surrender of hostages in the Gaza Strip. The military wing of Hamas announced that decided to delay the release of the second batch of hostages, causing the reaction of Israel which threatens to resume operations in Gaza.
Israeli negotiators responded to Hamas’s violations of the ceasefire by warning that if the hostages are not released by midnight, the ground operation in Gaza will resume.

Hamas’s military wing claims it is delaying the release “until Israel to abide by the terms of the agreement regarding the entry of trucks with aid to the northern Gaza Strip and due to the failure to meet agreed standards for the release of prisoners.”
However, Israel has allowed 200 trucks into the Stripas the agreement requires, and Israel’s military liaison COGAT with the Palestinians announced earlier that 50 of these trucks reached northern Gaza.
Earlier today, senior Hamas official Taher al-Nono told Al Jazeera that Israel also failed to comply with the conditions regarding the release of Palestinian prisonersfor whom Hamas had pressed for their release in a different order than that carried out by Israel.
Israeli sources, in turn, accused Hamas of violating the terms of the list of hostages to be released today, including the obligation to release a mother along with her child.
The second batch was to be released at 4 pm but so far the process has not started.
For its part, the Israeli military has said its forces are waiting to receive instructions from the government on their next moves in case Hamas backs down and does not honor what was agreed to release the hostages. This was reported by Haaretz newspaper.
Israeli security sources expressed confusion over why Hamas was delaying the release of the captives tonight.
They further added that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is currently awaiting government instructions on how to proceed should Hamas breach the agreement.
Relatives and neighbors of the Israelis who were to be released today by Hamas express their anxiety over the progress of the exchange, as Hamas has significantly delayed.
“It’s hard. I have nothing else to say. We can’t breathe anymore,” said a resident who preferred not to reveal her name. “My father was murdered, but my daughter’s best friend is supposed to be released today and I know them all,” she added. “Hamas is playing with us and we are divided, simply divided,” he concluded.
