A force of Israeli navy special operations men was deployed early this morning in the coastal city of Batroun, Lebanon, arresting a high-ranking Hezbollah official. Authorities in both Israel and Lebanon did not immediately comment. Pro-Hezbollah journalist Hassan Ilaik said in a post on X that a large group of Israeli soldiers landed in the city in question and arrested the man, before disembarking and leaving in speedboats. The same journalist posted television footage showing soldiers patrolling a street having arrested the man. Lebanese Transport Minister Ali Hamieh, who represents Hezbollah in the Lebanese government, said the video was credible without releasing further details.
