Israel and the United States will never succeed in eliminating Hamas and Israel could secure the release of hostages from the Gaza Strip only through a political solution to the conflict, he said today Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
In a speech at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, in which he described Hamas as a “liberation movement”, Amirabdolakhian said: “Israel and the US will never succeed in destroying Hamas”, as reported by APE-MPE.
The Iranian minister added that Israel cannot release the hostages by war which grabbed the Hamas during her attack on 7 October. Only with political solution something like this could be achieved, he stressed. These statements were made at a meeting of Amirabdolakhian with his counterparts from other Middle Eastern countries.
Last month Iran’s supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on Muslim countries that maintain ties with Israel to sever them, even for a “limited period of time”. He had previously called for Israel to embargo food and oil sales from Islamic countries.
