Israel: 591 cases of the Omicron mutation out of a total of 1,775 in 24 hours

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that 591 cases of the Omicron variant of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,118.

The 723 of the people infected with this variant are travelers who have returned from abroad. There are another 861 suspected cases, but the genome sequencing of these cases has not yet been completed.

A total of 1,775 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were detected, and no patient deaths due to COVID-19 complications were reported. The pandemic death toll remained at 8,241 dead with a total of 1,363,577 infections.

The number of COVID-19 patients treated in a serious condition increased to 90 (+2).
