The Indian Navy announced on Friday that its vessels had intercepted an Iranian fishing vessel in the sea of Oman that was allegedly seized by Somali pirates. Two of its vessels intercepted FV Al Kamar 786, flying the flag of the Islamic Republic, about 165 kilometers southwest of the Yemeni island of Socotra, not far from the eastern tip of Somalia. “An operation by the Indian Navy is underway to save the captured ship and its crew,” a spokesman for the PN said via X.
