IPhone 13 maker confirms factory flooding in horrific flood, but good news

Foxconn posted an official comment on previous news that much of its plant in Zhongmu, Zhengzhou was underwater due to severe flooding.

Foxconn is the largest contract manufacturer of Apple products, in particular, iPhone smartphones. Foxconn said the flooding and equipment damage occurred in a part of the plant that mainly manufactures PC components.

As for the production lines of the iPhone 13, they were not affected. There is water on the periphery, but it has not reached the equipment. In this connection, the manufacturer guarantees the timely delivery of the iPhone 13 and other products.

Foxconn employees previously told the media that during the flood, about 1,000 people at the plant were trapped and awaiting rescue. They also confirmed that a large number of automated production equipment had been submerged.

To ensure a smooth growth in production capacity for the iPhone 13, the company is constantly increasing bonuses by attracting employees. If employees work on the production line for 90 days, they will receive a bonus of $ 1,540. This amount has been increased several times since the beginning of the year.

Foxconn received all orders for the new 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, 68% of orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and about 60% of orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro.

The iPhone 13 is expected to be unveiled in September.
