International K-drama Day is celebrated this Wednesday (29); see schedule

Fans of South Korean productions now have a date to celebrate: on November 29th, streaming with an Asian catalog Rakuten Viki, the language learning app Duolingo, the online comics platform WEBTOON and other companies joined together to celebrate the Day K-drama International.

Limited-time discount on streaming subscriptions

For one day only, on November 29, K-drama fans will get 29% off any Rakuten Viki streaming Viki Pass subscription plan, which provides access to thousands of films, reality shows and Asian dramas.

Also for a limited time, fans will be able to enjoy a special “Rakuten Viki K-Drama Day” collection, which includes popular titles such as “Sparkling Watermelon”, “The Deal”, “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”, and “ What Happened to Secretary Kim?” free.

Behind the scenes of the dramas

South Korean entertainment company CJ ENM will release a special segment of the popular “Ketchup!” on YouTube, which features an interview with the producer of the drama “My Lovely Liar”, behind-the-scenes footage of what it’s like creating a Korean drama and other content with celebrities on your social channels.

For those who enjoy reading webtoons

Several comics gave rise to famous dramas. These are called webtoons, whose episodes are made available weekly online to readers.

The WEBTOON platform will host a reading event on the app, where fans will have access to episodes of series that have been adapted into K-dramas, such as “A Good Day to be a Dog”, “The Perfect Wedding’s Revenge”, “True Beauty ” and “The Girl from Downstairs”, and will be able to unlock a month of Viki Pass Plus to watch these series.

Black Label, the record label of world-renowned artists such as Big Bang’s Taeyang and Jeon Somi, will have artist Vince covering songs from a very famous K-drama.
