The Civil Police Corregedoria opened an administrative procedure to investigate the conduct of police chief Maria Corsato, who is in charge of one of the investigations involving businessman Thiago Brennand, 42 years old. The information is from the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo.
In September, Brennand was caught by security cameras attacking model Helena Gomes inside a gym in a mall in São Paulo. Since then, other victims have also denounced the businessman.
Ten women have already denounced him for the crimes of rape, threat, bodily injury and false imprisonment. In addition to cases of gender violence, Brennand is accused of assaulting a waiter at a restaurant inside the Porto Feliz condominium (about 35 km from Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo). On video, the businessman defends himself against the accusations.
On September 13, Brennand was arrested by the Federal Police (PF) in Abu Dhabi, but was released the next day after posting bail. On the 15th, he had a new preventive detention decreed by the Justice at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Porto Feliz, in São Paulo, for crimes of rape (five times); false imprisonment; torture; bodily harm of a very serious nature; coercion in the course of the process; illegal embarrassment (three times); threat (four times) unauthorized record of sexual intimacy and disclosure of rape or sex scene (eight times).
Since the end of September, Brennand has been represented by lawyer Ricardo Sayeg. In his videos, the businessman denies the accusations and insults lawyers involved in the process.
