A couple of new-generation 20-core Intel processors have passed Geekbench tests. We are talking about the Sapphire Rapids generation CPU (Xeon Scalable).

Each test processor had 20 MB of L2 cache and 75 MB of L3 cache. The frequency was determined as 1.5 GHz, but other data speaks of 4.7 GHz, and it is not yet clear if at least one of the options is correct.
The test results so far clearly do not correspond to the final ones. In single-threaded mode, the system of two processors scored 1340 points, and in multi-threaded mode, the result was 31,666 points. This is much less than the Ryzen 9 5950X or many other modern processors with fewer cores.

Considering that Sapphire Rapids will be released in the second half of next year, the poor results are not surprising – even pre-production samples are still a long way off.
